Urban greening community engagement and education programs are powerful tools to connect people with nature, to their green space and to each other. They provide an avenue to engage, involve and mobilise broad community support to protect, enhance and expand the urban forest.

Across metropolitan Melbourne, councils and other partners are delivering a vast array of highly successful urban greening engagement and education programs. This report documents these programs, and shines a spotlight on the work being done. We identify exceptional urban greening community education and education programs which have elements well suited to scale across metropolitan Melbourne.

This report is designed to share knowledge and learnings lessons learned from practitioners in the urban greening community engagement space, and help councils and other partners make informed decisions about delivering, adopting and expanding their programs, so that collectively we can work towards the vision of a greener Melbourne.
