Cassandra Nichols

Chief Executive Officer

Cassandra joined Earthwatch in 2011. Beginning her career in the finance industry, it wasn’t long before nature called and she traded her heels in for hiking boots. Securing an Ecology degree and moving to the Daintree Rainforest to manage a James Cook University research station, Cassandra spent 5 years studying the sensitivity of rainforest flora and fauna to climate change and facilitating international research. With a growing aspiration to bridge the gap between science and the community, Earthwatch provided the perfect vehicle to continue her passion for the Environment.

A member of the Australian Business and Biodiversity Initiative Steering Committee and an active member of the Australian Committee for International Union for Conservation of Nature (ACIUCN), Cassandra’s primary focus is to create inspirational learning experiences to help drive our societies behaviour towards a more sustainable future.
