Schools Education Officer

Nicole has been a teacher and learner for 56 years (all of her life). Nicole has worked as a teacher and education consultant in primary, secondary and tertiary sectors in Victoria and Western Australia, spending nine of those years in the Kimberley region. She has also worked for brief periods, educating children in the UK and USA and has spent time working as an Education Officer at Scienceworks, Melbourne. Nicole has two Masters degrees in Education, one focused on Improved Literacy Outcomes for Indigenous Students and one in Wellbeing, in which her keystone research explored the correlation between primary aged children’s wellbeing and ‘nature relatedness’.

Nicole’s passion now lies in motivating young people to action towards a sustainable Earth. She has been a participant in two Earthwatch expeditions (Teachwild and BushBlitz); she is an EarthEcho Fellow (2018); she is a Kids Teaching Kids Ambassador and she is currently the Executive Officer and Western Representative on the Catholic Education Melbourne’s Environmental Sustainability and Development Committee. Nicole lives on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, with her husband, amazing twin daughters, a crazy labradoodle named Sam and four Brown Isa chooks.
